Ben’s son. Albuquerque. Four-time world champion. A pilot this city still names.
Richard Abruzzo grew up in Albuquerque in a flying family. He won four world championships and put a Burque name on international gas-balloon records.
In 2010 he and Carol Rymer Davis were lost on a flight over the Adriatic. We say that once, plainly, because the city still says both names. The page is about the flying and the hometown, not the accident.
Independent tribute. Not a family statement. The picture is the sky.
Independent tribute to an Albuquerque hero. Not affiliated with the person, the family, or any team or foundation that carries the name. We don’t use their photograph. See a mistake? Write dukecitylegends@gmail.com.
